FROSTY SNOWMEN | |
2 qt. vanilla or coconut ice cream 2 c. shredded coconut Miniature chocolate chips 12 chocolate mint patties 12 chocolate mint (or any flavor) bonbon candies Toothpicks You will need 3 ice cream scoops; a large, medium and small. For the smallest scoop, you can try using the large end of a melon baller. If you don't have a medium scoop, try scooping the center balls smaller than the ones you scooped for the base. Scoop 12 large balls of ice cream, place on wax paper, and return to freezer. Scoop 12 medium size balls (about 1/4 cup) and place them in the freezer, too. Scoop 12 small balls (2-3 tablespoons) and place in freezer. Pour coconut into shallow pan. Remove large balls from freezer, roll in coconut and return to freezer. Repeat with medium and small balls. Stack balls into 12 (3 tiered) snowmen, starting with the largest ball at the bottom and ending with smallest ball for head. Press balls gently together so they stick or hold together with toothpick. Press chocolate chips into ice cream to form a face and buttons. Place a bonbon on top of a mint patty, security with toothpick, to form a hat. Make 12 of these and insert into top of heads. Place snowmen back in freezer until ready to serve. |
