APPLE CAKE WITH APPLE - BRANDY
SAUCE
 
1 1/2 c. Bisquick
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 apples, pared & coarsely chopped
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

SAUCE:

1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. Bisquick
1 c. apple juice or cider
2 tbsp. mayonnaise
1/2 tsp. brandy flavoring

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease square pan, 8 x 8 x 2 inches. Mix Bisquick, 1 cup sugar and egg until crumbly. Press 2/3 of mixture into pan. Top with apples, walnuts. Sprinkle with remaining crumbly mixture. Drizzle with butter.

Mix 1 teaspoon sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Sprinkle over butter. Bake until golden brown about 35 minutes. Serve warm with apple brandy sauce.
