NUT BARS SUPREME 
2 c. town crier flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nut meats

Cream shortening with 1 cup brown sugar. Add 1 well beaten egg and vanilla. Add the flour which has been sifted with the baking powder and salt. Mix to a smooth stiff batter and spread on a greased 10 x 16 inch baking sheet.

Beat the remaining egg and spread over the batter. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup of the sugar over the nut meats. Bake in a moderate 350 degree oven about 30 minutes. Cool slightly and cut in to squares or bars.
