NAMELESS CAKE 
3/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 3/4 c. cake flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. cocoa
3/4 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream shortening, add sugar and cream thoroughly. Blend in 3 well beaten eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add to mixture alternately with sour milk. Blend in flavoring and nuts. Pour into well greased and floured 8 inch layer pans. Bake 30 minutes in moderate oven, 350 degrees. Ice with Nameless Cake Icing.

NAMELESS CAKE ICING:

6 tbsp. butter
1 egg yolk
3 c. confectioners' sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tbsp. hot coffee

Cream butter and blend in yolk of egg. Sift sugar, cocoa and cinnamon together and add to mixture alternately with hot coffee. Beat until smooth. Add more coffee if necessary for right consistency.
