WALNUT CRESCENTS 
1 c. sifted all purpose flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter softened
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. finely ground walnuts
1 to 2 tsp. milk (if necessary)
1 c. powdered sugar (confectioners sugar)

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Sift flour and salt onto a sheet of waxed paper. Combine butter, sugar and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Cream for 1 minute. Add walnuts and mix until well blended. Add milk if necessary. Using level teaspoons of dough, roll into crescent shapes and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet and roll in confectioners sugar. Cool on wire racks.
