PECAN PIE BARS 
1 (18 1/2 oz.) pkg. butter or yellow cake mix
1/2 c. butter, melted
4 eggs
1 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

Filling:

2/3 c. reserved cake mix
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Generously grease bottom and sides of a 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Reserve 2/3 cup cake mix for filling.

In large bowl, combine remaining cake mix, butter and 1 egg. Mix until crumbly. Press in prepared pan.

Bake at 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes until light golden brown.

Meanwhile, prepare filling. Pour filling over partially baked crust; sprinkle with pecans. Return to oven and bake 30 to 35 minutes until filling is set. Cool; cut into bars.

Makes 3 dozen.
