MARINATED ROAST 
5 lb. or less 2 1/2" thick chuck roast
1/2 c. soy sauce
3-6 tbsp. white wine
1/4 c. water
2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. garlic powder

In saucepan, simmer all marinate ingredients for 3 minutes. Cool. Pour over roast. Marinate 24 hours. Drain and reserve sauce. Sear roast 5 minutes on each side on grill. Cook 15 to 20 minutes. Baste frequently.
