I needed a quick cake for a church function. This recipe is great. I added 2 teaspoons of baking soda as suggested by one reviewer. My twist was to add 1/4 cup of peanut butter and milk chocolate chips to make a peanut butter cup pound cake. After it came out of the oven I dusted it lightly with powdered sugar.

Ok, I am so brokenhearted! I made this cake and silly impatient me opened the oven to check it, and it fell. It tasted amazing nonetheless! Determined to make the perfect pound cake,I made a second right away. Well, it fell also! Bummer! The only thing I changed was the pan, I used a tube pan. Must be my oven temp.

I love this recipe - I failed to list in on my favorite's bar and could not remember what site it was located on, It took an entire hour to find it and I promise I will never loose it again. Moist, buttery, a crowd pleaser. I only used vanilla and I added sour cream. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

I love this recipe! Thank you so much for the post. I only added vanilla because it was all I had in the pantry and the cake was moist and delicious.

This is an amazing recipe. I've never actually done it exactly like this though. I've only done half the recipe, but that's not really a big difference. I add cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and blue sprinkles. I always change how I do it, sometimes I add almond extract without anything else, sometimes I add lemon juice... It's a great recipe to play around with flavoring!

Very easy to make and cake came out great. I only added 4 eggs, one at a time and 1 cup of sugar which made it sweet enough. I did add 1 tsp of baking powder and baked it in a loaf pan. I will say don't add too much almond extract. It has a strong flavor and I had to add extra vanilla just to cancel out the almond. If you like pound cake with crispy corners and a soft fluffy center, this is the one for you. It was wonderful and preparation very easy and simple.

Awesome recipe! The only things I changed was I added 1 tsp of baking powder and no lemon (I used 2 vanilla instead). Really easy to make and taste great! Thanks Lola for the sugar and butter advice, it worked.
