MYRTLE'S COOKIES 
2 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. butter
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 c. sweet milk
1 tsp. baking soda (stirred in milk)
1 1/2 c. raisins (optional)
3 1/2 c. flour
1 c. nuts
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Sift together flour, salt, cinnamon and baking powder. Add milk and flour alternately to mixture. Add vanilla. Add nuts and raisins. Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees.
