COFFEE WREATH 
2/3 c. milk, scalded
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. household yeast or 2 sm. cakes
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour

FILLING:

2 tbsp. melted butter
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. nuts

Combine milk and shortening, sugar and salt. Cool. Then add yeast, let stand 5 minutes, mix well. Blend in egg and vanilla. Add flour gradually and mix thoroughly until well blended and soft. Let dough rise until double. Roll dough on floured board to 1/4 inch.

Spread filling and turn up. Let rise and bake in 350 degree oven.
