BANANA CHOCOLATE CHIP BARS 
2/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
2/3 c. brown sugar, packed
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 c. mashed ripe banana
1 c. chocolate chips

Cream shortening and sugars. Add dry ingredients sifted together. Add last 4 ingredients and spread evenly on a greased jelly roll pan (15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches). Bake at 350 degrees for 20 or 25 minutes or until light brown. Frosting is optional. These bars stay moist for a long time.
