FRUIT COCKTAIL COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 tbsp. molasses
1 c. raisins
1 can lite fruit cocktail
1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
3 tbsp. hot water
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream the shortening, sugar, and molasses. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well. Add the vanilla. Mix the baking soda with the water and blend into mixture. Sift together flour, cloves, salt and cinnamon. Mix dry ingredients with sugar mixture. Drain the fruit cocktail well. Fold the fruit cocktail, raisins and nuts into batter.

Spray a cookie sheet with Pam. Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Let cool on the cookie sheet, then remove to a plate.
