ROLLED OATS COOKIES 
2/3 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 c. milk
2 c. rolled oats
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. chocolate chips

Cream shortening and sugar until light. Add eggs and milk. Add rolled oats. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to date mixture. Add chocolate chips. Drop from teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake in a moderate oven at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
