BEEF AND POTATO BAKE 
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 can (10 3/4 oz.) cream of mushroom soup
3/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 lg. potatoes, peel and slice thin

Cook ground beef and onion in skillet over medium heat, until beef is brown and onions are transparent. Drain.

Combine soup, milk, salt and pepper. Layer 1/2 each of potatoes, soup mixture and cooked ground beef and onions in ungreased baking dish. Repeat layers and cover. Preheat oven to 325 degrees and bake for 1 hour or until potatoes are done. Sprinkle with cheese. Heat 5 minutes to melt cheese.

I made this recipe tonight with a little bit of my own splash...add cumin to meat and onions after draining the grease and drained and added a can of corn and used sharp cheddar on top whole time that it cooked.. turned out wonderful... used 4 large potatoes and just sliced them on my grater for thin slices and layered like the recipe said... search a lot of beef casserole dishes and used this one as my base..
