CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES | |
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. shortening 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 egg 1 3/4 c. Pillsbury's Best all purpose or unbleached flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 6 oz. (1 c.) semi sweet chocolate chips 1/2 c. chopped nuts or sunflower nuts, if desired Heat oven to 375 degrees. In large bowl, beat brown sugar, sugar, butter, and shortening until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg; beat well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Add flour, baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoon 2 inches apart on to ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets. Makes 4 dozen cookies. |
