5 tbsp. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening (part butter)
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook flour and milk until it forms a smooth paste. Combine remaining ingredients until light and fluffy. Add cooled paste and beat 5 minutes at high speed with electric mixer.
