BLACK - BOTTOM PIE 
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
4 c. scalded milk
10 beaten egg yolks
12 oz. chocolate chips
Shavings from Hershey bar
3 env. Dream Whip
2 tsp. vanilla
2 baked 9" pie shells
3 env. unflavored gelatin
1/2 c. cold water
8 egg whites
1 c. sugar

Combine sugar and cornstarch. Slowly add scalded milk to egg yolks. Stir in sugar. Cook until custard thickens. Strain to remove any lumps if they occur. To 1/2 of the custard (2 cups). Add chocolate chips and vanilla. Pour into cooled pie shells. Chill. Soften gelatin in water. Add to remaining custard. Stir until dissolved. Chill until slightly thick.

Beat egg whites, adding sugar gradually until they stand in stiff peaks. Fold in (cooled and thickened) custard mixture. Pour over chocolate layer and chill. Cover with Dream Whip and shaved Hershey bars. Chill at least 4 hours before serving.
