SWEET ROLL DOUGH | |
1/2 c. warm water 2 pkg. dry yeast 1 1/2 c. lukewarm milk 1/2 c. sugar 2 tsp. salt 2 eggs 1/2 c. soft shortening 7 to 7 1/2 c. flour Put warm water into a large bowl. Sprinkle the yeast over the water and stir to dissolve. Stir in the milk, sugar, salt, eggs, shortening, and half of the flour. Mix with spoon until smooth. Add enough remaining flour to handle easily; mix with hand. Turn onto lightly floured board; knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes. Put in greased bowl, turning the dough over to place the greased side up. Cover with cloth and let rise until double. Punch down; let rise again until almost double. Shape into rolls, let rise; bake at 375 to 400 degrees. |
