DATE LOAF 
1 lb. each of candied cherries, dates & pecan halves
4 eggs, separated
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. sweet cream
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Do not cut or chop the cherries, dates or pecans. Sift flour, salt and baking powder and mix in the dates so each one is coated with flour. Beat the egg yolks. Add sugar, vanilla and cream; mix well. Add the flour, dates and nuts and gently mix together. Add the cherries and carefully stir them in.

Beat the egg whites until stiff. Fold beaten whites into the other mixture stirring just enough to blend well. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. You may use a tube pan or a loaf pan.
