DARK COCOA BROWNIES 
2/3 c. self-rising flour
1/4 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 c. melted shortening or substitute vegetable oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nut meats

Sift flour measure. Add baking powder, salt, and cocoa. Add sugar gradually to eggs beating thoroughly. Add shortening and blend. Add flour mixture thoroughly. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour into well greased 8 x 8 inch pan.

Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes.
