2 (16 oz.) cans applesauce
1 empty applesauce can of sugar
3 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves or allspice
1 tbsp. red hot candy or 4-6 cinnamon candy disks

Put all ingredients into large microwaveable container. Cover loosely. Cook on full power for 15 minutes. Stir, then cook another 10 minutes. Applesauce will thicken as it cools.
