SHEPHERDS PIE 
1 lb. ground chuck
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 tbsp. shortening
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. chili powder
Dash of pepper
1 c. tomato ketchup
1 c. water
1 1/2 to 2 c. mixed vegetables, cooked and drained
3 c. seasoned hot mashed potatoes
Paprika

Saute ground chuck, green pepper and onion in shortening until meat is browned and green pepper is tender. Drain off any excess fat. Sprinkle in next four ingredients; stir in ketchup, water and cooked vegetables. Combine well and cook until mixture thickens.

Divide mixture into six 10 ounce baking dishes or one 2 quart casserole. Top with potatoes and sprinkle with paprika. Place under broiler to brown; or bake in preheated 450 degree oven for 15 minutes. 6 servings.
