GOLDEN SPONGE CAKE | |
1 2/3 c. sifted cake flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 10 egg yolks (1 c.), room temperature 1/2 c. hot water 1 tsp. lemon extract 1 c. sugar Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder and salt, sift together. Beat yolks until slightly thickened. Gradually add water, beating until very thick and light. Add flavoring then sugar gradually. Fold in flour 1/4 at a time, just until blended. Bake in ungreased tube pan 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Invert pan and cool 1 hour. |
