CHARLIE'S COLE SLAW | |
1 (3 lb.) solid head of cabbage 1 med. onion 1 lemon 1 tbsp. mustard 2 c. mayonnaise 1/8 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. black pepper 8 slices bacon Wash cabbage remove old leaves. Quarter cabbage, shred on grater, grate onion also, place in a large bowl, form a well hole, cut bacon into small squares. Saute until crisp. Pour bacon with dripping into hole of grated cabbage. Mix very well. Roll lemon on table to soften. Cut in half. Squeeze all juice into slaw. Add other ingredients. Chill, let set 1 hour. Serves about 12 to 15. |
