DATE PUDDING 
3 unbeaten eggs
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. plain flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. broken walnuts

Beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy; add sifted dry ingredients. Stir in dates and nuts. Turn into greased 8-inch square pan and bake in pan of hot water in 350 degree oven for 1 hour. Serve warm; top with lemon sauce or whipped cream. Serves 6.

HARD SAUCE:

1/2 c. butter
2 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar; add vanilla. Pour over date pudding.
