DAVE'S BUN-BUSTIN' BEST BAKED
BOSTON BROWN BREAD
 
2 c. buttermilk
2/3 c. molasses
2 tbsp. salad oil
1 c. rye flour
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. yellow cornmeal
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins

Combine buttermilk, molasses and oil. Stir dry ingredients together, and add to buttermilk mixture; mix well and stir in raisins. Pour batter into greased pans, using either 2 (1 pound) coffee cans or loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 45 minutes or until a toothpick tests "clean". Remove pans to a rack; let cool for 10 minutes. Remove bread from pans to cool completely. Serve warm.
