1 c. raisins
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 1/4 c. cold water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda

1. Mix first 7 ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil and then cool.

2. Add flour and soda.

3. Bake in a greased and floured 9 x 9 inch or 8 x 8 inch pan for 35-40 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
