1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. cloves
3/4 tsp. allspice
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 c. sour cream (or use 1 c. milk and 1 tbsp. lemon juice)
1/4 tsp. lemon flavoring
1 tsp. vanilla

Blend flour, spices, salt and soda set aside. Beat eggs in small bowl until thick (about 5 minutes). Beat in sugar gradually. Transfer mixture into a large bowl and stir in flour mixture alternately with sour cream (or milk). Pour over sliced apples that have been sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
