BLACKBERRY DUMPLINGS 
3 pt. blackberries
1/4 c. water
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. butter
2 c. flour
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Milk

Combine blackberries, water, sugar and butter. Let the mixture set for awhile.

Sift flour, sugar, salt and baking powder in bowl. Add egg and mix well. Add enough milk to make stiff batter. Bring blackberry mixture to a boil. Drop batter into boiling mixture (a spoonful at a time). Cover and cook for 15 to 20 minutes.

Serve with cream, ice cream, or whipped cream. Other berries can be substituted.
