OREO COOKIE CAKE 
1 lb. Oreo cookies, crushed
8 oz. cream cheese, soft
3/4 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. melted butter
2 (8 oz.) containers of Cool Whip
1 lg. pkg. instant chocolate pudding
Maraschino cherries (optional)

Reserve 1/2 cup cookie crumbs. Mix remaining crumbs with melted butter and press into 9 x 13 inch pan. Chill slightly. Mix cream cheese with powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Spread over chilled crust. Mix pudding as directed for pie mixture, spread over cheese layer. Chill again and top with second container of cool whip. Sprinkle reserved crumbs over all. Top with maraschino cherry pieces if desired.
