CONGO SQUARES 
3/4 c. butter
1 box brown sugar
3 eggs
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. broken pecans
1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch bits

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together and add to creamed mixture. Will be very thick. Stir in nuts and butterscotch bits by hand. Spread into greased 15 x 10 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cut into bars when done.
