GRANDMA LILY'S DUM-PLEE-NEE'S | |
This was grandma Lily's favorite thing to make when she was babysitting us kids. She would ask us what we wanted for a snack.. no surprise when we said "DUM PLEE NEE'S"!!! ALWAYS A FAVORITE. :) :) 1 cup Bisquick baking mix 2 cups all-purpose flour Water (enough to make dough, about a half cup or so) Mix Bisquick and flour in medium bowl. Add water, a little at a time, and knead dough until you get a ball of dough. Add more flour, a little at a time, if its too sticky.. dough should look like a pie crust. Put dough in a bowl and cover with Saran or plastic wrap. Let rise for an hour. Put dough on a floured board and make small balls. Get rolling pin and flatten out each ball then cut in 4 or 5 to make triangles. Have a deep fryer ready and drop triangles a few at a time turning over as they brown. triangles will rise when done. Transfer to paper towels and allow to cool down a bit. CINNAMON SPREAD: brown sugar butter cinnamon Blend butter, brown sugar and cinnamon to spread on top. Go make some yummy hot chocolate or tea or coffee sit by the fire and ENJOY!!! :) Submitted by: Dee Somar |
