CRANBERRY BREAD 
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
Grated rind and juice of 1 orange
1/2 tsp. almond extract (optional)
3/4 c. hot water in which 2 tbsp. butter has been melted
1 c. cranberries, cut in halves
1 c. walnut meats, cut fine

Mix dry ingredients together. Add remaining ingredients. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. OPTIONAL: Sprinkle mixture of 2 teaspoons sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1 teaspoon nutmeg on top of uncooked bread. Best if left 24 hours before using.
