CHERRY OAT COOKIES 
1/2 c. dried cherries, chopped
4 tsp. rum
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
zest of half orange
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. oats

Oven at 350°F. Sprinkle cherries with rum. Cream butter with sugar. Beat in egg and zest. Combine dry ingredients and stir into butter mixture. Stir in oats and cherries. Place spoonfuls of dough 1 1/2-inches apart on greased baking sheets.

Bake until golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Cool completely before removing from sheets.
