BROWNIES 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, soft
2 eggs, beaten separately
1 scant c. flour
2 squares baking chocolate, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. walnuts (opt.)

Cream sugar and butter. Add vanilla and egg yolks; blend. Add melted chocolate while still warm and runny. Blend. Add flour and nuts (if used). Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Spread in greased square pan. Bake in 325 to 350 degree oven for 25 minutes until tester comes out clean. Cut in squares while still warm.
