TAFFY APPLE SALAD 
4 c. apples, peeled & diced
1/2 c. sugar
8 to 10 oz. crushed pineapple
8 oz. Cool Whip
1 tbsp. flour
1 egg
2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
5 oz. salted peanuts without skins

Mix flour, sugar, juice of pineapple, egg and vinegar in small pan. Stir over medium flame until thick. Refrigerate until cold. Fold in Cool Whip. Add fruit and nuts. Reserve some nuts to put on top. Mix apples with pineapple to keep apples from turning brown. (I add small amount red food coloring to salad just so it's light pink. It's much more appealing.)
