2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/5 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Colored sugar

Have all ingredients at room temperature. Sift dry ingredients together. Cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Add egg; beat until fluffy. Stir in dry ingredients. Blend in milk and nuts. Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet, flatten with water glass bottom which has been dipped in colored sugar. Bake 12 minutes at 400 degrees. Yield: 5 to 6 dozen.
