BEST COOKIE EVER
1/2 lb. (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 1/2 c. plain uncooked oatmeal
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (12 oz.) chocolate chips
1 (8 oz.) Hershey bar, grated
1 1/2 c. nuts, chopped (almonds, walnuts or pecans)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, cream together butter, sugar and brown sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Mix in flour, oatmeal, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add remaining ingredients and mix together. Roll dough into small balls (no larger than ping pong ball) and place about 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake for 6 minutes, no more than 7 minutes. Yes that's enough, we want them to be moist and chewy. Yield: approximately 5 dozen.
