DIRT DESSERT | |
1/4 c. melted butter 20 Oreo cookies Put Oreos in a plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin. Mix with melted butter. Press into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Freeze. ICE CREAM LAYER: Scoop 1/2 gallon of slightly softened peppermint bon bon ice cream over frozen crust layer. Smooth and freeze. CHOCOLATE SAUCE: 1 c. powdered sugar 1/2 can evaporated milk 6 oz. chocolate chips 1/4 c. butter Cook all of the above in a medium saucepan. Stir constantly. After the chips and butter have melted continue to cook until mixture begins to thicken slightly. Remove from heat. Cool. Spread sauce over ice cream layer. Freeze. Spread a layer of whipping cream over chocolate sauce. Freeze. Crush 12 more Oreos and sprinkle over top. Freeze until ready to serve. (I like this dessert best when mom makes it in plastic disposable cups and serves them in NEW clay flower pots. I poke a hole in the top of each dessert and insert a gummy worm!) |
