GERMAN HASARENKAPFEN COOKIES | |
1 1/4 sticks butter, soft 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg, separated 1 2/3 c. flour 2 tbsp. grated lemon rind Pecan halves Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolk and mix well. Blend in flour and lemon rind and mix thoroughly. Shape into long roll 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Wrap in wax paper and chill. Cut into 3/4 inch slices and place pecan in center. Brush with slightly beaten egg white, sprinkle with additional sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes. Makes 24 cookies. |
