PEANUT BUTTER CUSTARD PIE | |
1 single crust pastry shell 1/2 c. crunchy peanut butter 1 (4 1/2 oz.) pkg. Americana Jello Golden Custard Mix 1 c. powdered sugar 1 egg yolk 2 1/2 c. whole milk 1 c. whipping cream or Cool Whip Available at Krogers or make your own custard filling. Mix peanut butter and sugar until crumbly. Reserve 1/4 cup to sprinkle on top of pie. Sprinkle remaining peanut butter and sugar into baked pastry shell. Prepare custard filling according to package instructions. (Use only 2 1/2 cups milk and 1 egg yolk.) After bringing to a boil, cool mixture slightly (set container in sink with cold water), stir frequently but keep covered so as not to skin. Pour into pie shell. Chill until set. Beat cream until stiff. Spread on top of cooled pie. Sprinkle reserved peanut butter and sugar mixture on top. Serve chilled. Small servings will be enjoyed, as this is a "rich" dessert. |
