CHINESE BEEF & VEGETABLES 
1 lb. beef, fat trimmed, in strips or 1 inch cubes
1 green pepper, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 beef bouillon cube
1 c. uncooked rice
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. garlic powder
Pepper to taste
2 c. water
1 egg, scrambled (very dry)
Leftover cooked vegetables such as broccoli, green beans, peas, cauliflower

Saute beef in 1 tablespoon oil or butter until brown, remove from pan. Saute uncooked rice in remaining oil or fat until brown. Add vegetables, seasonings, water to the rice, cover and cook for 1/2 hour. Add meat and continue cooking for 10 minutes in which the last 5 minutes you add the egg and leftover vegetables. Total cooking time: 30 to 45 minutes. Serves 4.
