CHERRY WINKS 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. milk
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. dates, chopped
1 c. Maraschino cherries, chopped
2 1/2 c. Corn Flakes, crushed

Sift dry ingredients. Combine shortening and sugar; cream well. Add eggs, vanilla and milk. Blend in dry ingredients; mix well. Add nuts, dates and cherries. Shape into balls, using a level tablespoon of dough for each cookie. Roll each ball in crushed Corn Flakes. Place on greased cookie sheet and top with one half cherry. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 4 dozen.
