CRANBERRY DATE BREAD 
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 cups coarsely chopped fresh cranberries
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1 cup milk or orange juice
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) melted butter
1 egg, slightly beaten
grated orange rind
1 1/2 cups chopped dates

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in medium sized bowl. Stir in the chopped cranberries and pecans.

In another bowl combine milk, butter, eggs and orange rind. Stir milk mixture into flour mixture alternating with the chopped dates, until flour mixture is moistened; do not over mix. Spoon batter into greased loaf pan.

Bake bread at 350°F for about 1 hour until toothpick inserted in center of bread comes out clean. Cool in pan for 15 minutes before taking out.
