6 slices bacon
1 c. bread crumbs
1 egg
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 med. onion, chopped
1 1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. ketchup

Place bacon strips in bottom of casserole. Mix all other ingredients and pour over bacon. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Baste often with the following sauce.

SAUCE:

4 tbsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
4 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. ketchup
1/4 c. chopped onion (may use dried minced onion)

Bring to boil and simmer, then baste meat loaf.
