HEARTY CHILI 
Oil (enough to cover bottom of skillet)
1 tbsp. dried crushed red pepper
1 tbsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 lg. green pepper, diced
1 (40 oz.) can red kidney beans (drained)
1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies (drained)
1 lb. chopped meat
1 lb. steak (shoulder cut or round) cut in cubes

Brown onions and green pepper in oil in large skillet. While the vegetables are cooking, put all the spices and canned ingredients into a large pot and mix well. Add onions and green pepper to pot.

Brown steak in oil in skillet. After it's browned add to pot. Brown chop meat in skillet, drain fat. After it's cooked add to pot.

Once all the ingredients are in the pot, stir well. Cover and simmer on low heat for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Serves 6.
