DATE PINWHEELS 
2 1/2 c. chopped dates
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Cook dates, sugar and water slowly 10 minutes. Add nuts. Cool. Cream butter and brown sugar gradually. Add eggs. Beat well. Add dry ingredients. Beat well. Chill. Divide into 2 parts and roll each separately a little less than 1/4 inch thick. Spread each with filling and roll. Chill (overnight is best), cut with sharp knife thick. Bake at 400 degrees. Makes 5 dozen.
