RUSSIAN TOAST | |
1 1/3 c. flour 1 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 2 eggs, beaten 1 c. milk 1 tbsp. cinnamon 1 tbsp. salad oil 1/2 loaf white bread Sift dry ingredients. Blend eggs, milk and oil; add dry ingredients, mix until moistened. Cut bread slices in halves, dip into mixture; coat both sides of bread. Fry in hot fat at 375 degrees. Fry until puffy and golden. Serve with cinnamon and sugar or syrup. (Use an egg beater to remove lumps in the batter.) |
