ORANGE BREAD 
2 c. chopped orange peel
2 c. sugar
2 c. water

Boil together until thick like marmalade, then cool.

1 well beaten egg
2 tbsp. melted butter
4 c. sifted flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk

Mix together and add to marmalade mixture. Put in a well greased pan and let rise for 30 minutes. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 45-60 minutes.

Check for doneness by inserting a straw or cake tester into middle. If it comes out clean, the bread is done. The top should be well cracked. Remove from pan and cool on a rack. Wonderful if eaten warm with butter.
