MILE HIGH STRAWBERRY PIE | |
2 egg whites 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries 1 c. whipping cream, whipped 1 crumb crust Mix together in a large bowl the egg whites, lemon juice, sugar and strawberries which have been chipped but have not been thawed. Beat at high speed for 20 minutes. Pour into crumb crust, freeze for several hours. CRUMB CRUST: (Makes two eight inch) 1 1/4-1 1/2 c. flour 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. nuts 1/2 c. butter, melted Stir together; spread on cookie sheet and bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees, stirring occasionally to brown evenly. Press into pie pans. Save a small amount to sprinkle over the top of the pies. This is a fantastic recipe that my daughters really enjoy. The crust makes this pie especially good. |
